Kelly Klima is a Ph.D graduate from Engineering and Public Policy working with Professor Granger Morgan and Dr. Iris Grossmann. Her research focused on ways to decrease hurricane damages. Two different methods exist for dealing with hurricane damages: hurricane mitigation, the practice of hardening structures against wind and rain damage, and hurricane modification, intentionally trying to change a hurricane. Kelly's work used decision analysis, benefit-cost analysis, and public perception studies to compare modificatiton and mitigation.
